Go Becky Go

I'm Becky, 23 year old Florida native living in Colorado. Marathon runner trying to get back into running, I also do capoeira on occasion and like to go on adventures sometimes. I'm a certified EMT (but still trying to get a job as one). I like to lift, and am currently working on "getting back on the wagon" for weight loss. I originally started this blog and lost 25 pounds and kept it off for a long time, then life happened and I'm up higher than my original starting weight.. I am pretty ambitious and am signed up for some races this year to boost my motivation, including a half that goes up a 14er, and a 50k in the mountains.

This is not a weight loss blog, it's my blog and I talk about whatever I want including weight loss and food and boys and running and drinking and lots of pictures of myself. I have little to no filter when it comes to the things I say, I am kinda opinionated, so sometimes I'm awkward, but I'm pretty awesome.

Finally. Now to spend the rest of the day studying until Thursday morning when I have lab. But first I must sleep. For like 4 hours.

But first I must do this stupid movie thing for sociology that I just remembered and class is in 3 hours.

The movie was quite enlightening, actually, it was a documentary on pregnancies and how awesome midwifery is, called “The Business of Being Born”. Actually may have changed my mind about the whole giving birth process if/when I have kids. I never really thought about it, I always since I was young said I would do a C-section. But then I realized during the movie that kinda goes against my whole philosophy on medicine and whatnot and not taking medicine or doing things requiring doctors unless absolutely necessary. If the time comes, I can run a marathon, so I could probably give birth. Although if for some reason this encourages you to watch the movie, a warning: there’s a lot of naked pregnant ladies in this. Including Ricki Lake. And you see actual births and vaginas and stuff. Kinda gross but not as gross as I thought it would be. That or I’ve become desensitized since I’ve spent the last 4 months staring into cadavers so the human body isn’t that gross anymore.
