In the last 2 weeks,
I’ve run 50 miles!
Not shabby considering I skip runs!
Now if only I followed my training schedule this week.
Scheduled:
Tuesday: 4
Wednesday: 7
Thursday:4
Saturday: 7
Sunday:14
If I were to follow that, I’d have 36 miles scheduled. And then, add 6 to that, because of my 6 today. That would put me 8 miles shy of 100 miles for the month, well before the month was over.
And then there’s my birthday week after this week. I have ten scheduled for my birthday just because it’s my favorite distance. If I were to follow my training PLUS that.. That would be 47 miles in a week. I’m going to make it easy runs, so it’s not like I’ll be putting myself at risk of injury. And I’ll be good. I want my body to get used to high mileage though so it’ll recover better when I hit the long long distances. No more of this half assed stuff. Like I read Rach say once “If you want to race at 70% of your potential, hit 70% of your training runs. If you want to race at 100% of your potential, get out and do the work.”
Hmmmm…. Maybe. We’ll see. My legs are pretty sore today. But I’m going to do my best to meet my goals. And not hurt myself. And do well in school. Especially that.
